SPARC


Susan K. Medina is a seasoned professional with almost 20 years’ experience in strategic communications. Her proprietary strategic communication process, known as SPARC, has helped top Fortune 500 companies forge and maintain strategic relationships vital in helping them reach their goals. Her communication process is known for its effectiveness and is just one of the competencies that sets Susan K. Medina Communication Strategies apart from the rest of the communications world.

One integral component of SPARC is the process of building relationships. Of perfecting the art of communication as it relates to the task or challenge at hand. Susan maintains relationships with key leaders, presents the facts, skillfully tells her clients’ stories, and makes sure each party is pleased with the end results. It’s this kind of commitment that has contributed to her celebrity with such clients as, Titan Operating LLC, Grande Energy, Range Resources Corporation (NYSE: RRC), ExxonMobil (XOM), and Texas Hospital for Advanced Medicine, just to name a few.

Susan’s international experience began while working in San Antonio with NAFTA’S North American Development Bank (NADBank). In her role as a Senior Public Relations and Governmental Affairs Officer, Susan worked closely with Cabinet-level board and staff under President Bush and President Fox and advised the NADBank’s Managing Director and Deputy Managing Director on media, congressional and communications-related issues.

Susan is a graduate of the University of Texas at San Antonio with a B.B.A. in Business Management with a concentration in Marketing. She formally studied public relations at New York University at the urging and recommendation of a college professor.

KATELIN REDDICK

Katelin Reddick is the newest addition to the Susan K. Medina Communication Strategies team. A communication specialist, Katelin assists with all media, public, and community relations, social media and collaterals for a variety of Susan K. Medina’s client-base.

Prior to joining Susan K. Medina, Reddick worked for Sam Edelman of Sam Edelman Shoes in New York City where she assisted with the company’s key communication efforts including managing a multi-million dollar account with Home Shopping Network (HSN). Reddick also spent time interning at The Tobe Report, a leading trend forecasting and retail consulting publication based in New York as well.

Reddick is a summa cum laude 2007 graduate of Texas Christian University and the Public Relations adviser for the TCU Kappa Alpha Theta annual 5K philanthropic run, Fall Breakaway, benefiting Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA).

LYNN HANCOCK, APR

Principal, Booker/Hancock & Associates

Lynn Hancock is a public relations/communications professional with more than 30- years of corporate and agency experience. She directs Houston-based Booker Hancock’s public relations counseling services overseeing strategic public relations programs, media relations, special event planning and management, community relations, media/crisis training and development and production of print and audio-visual materials.

She is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin. An active volunteer with the American Cancer Society, where she currently serves as Vice Chair of the Board of Directors of the High Plains Division and is a member of the Executive Committee of the Gulf Coast Region. She is an accredited member of the Public Relations Society of America and chaired the 1996 Excalibur Awards program. She serves as president of the board of the Houston Youth Symphony, chairman of the Advisory Board of the Friends of CanCare and is a member of CanCare of Houston’s board of directors.

ANDREW BIAR

President/Founder, Strategic Public Affairs

Andrew Biar is the President of Strategic Public Affairs, Inc. (SPA). Strategic Public Affairs, Inc. is a full-service public affairs firm, specializing in corporate grassroots and government affairs strategies, grassroots mobilization, coalition organization and administration, crisis communication, strategy and message development, issues management, media relations, advocacy and government relations support (at the federal, state and local levels). Biar is a founding partner in the National Field Resource Network. Biar’s accomplishments include the development and management of state-wide, grassroots coalitions that have helped garner overwhelming, bipartisan, support from the Texas Congressional Delegation for the passage of the 2005 Central American Free Trade Agreement and the passage of landmark legislation, in 2000, by the U.S. Congress in favor of Permanent Normal Trade Relations (PNTR) for China.

Biar is a member of the Greater Houston Partnership. He serves on the Local Relations Committee, State Relations Committee, Federal Relations Committee and Government Relations Advisory Committee. He is a Life Time Member of The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. Biar serves as a Director for the Texas Wildlife Association and is co-chair of the legislative committee, he is a member of The R Club of Houston, MAVPAC, Federalist Society, The Executive Association of Houston, and the Houston Realty Breakfast Club. Biar is a 1991 graduate of Concordia University, Austin, Texas.

DALEA (DEE DEE) GRAYS

Senior Account Executive, Booker Hancock & Associates

Dalea (Dee Dee) Grays is a public relations professional with more than 10-years agency and non profit experience. Since rejoining Booker/Hancock in January of 2005, she manages accounts and oversees development of media relations, strategic planning, event planning and management, as well as writing collateral materials.

Prior to joining Booker/Hancock, she worked for two years as Project Coordinator for Moody Gardens’ Festival of Lights, one of Southeast Texas’ largest holiday light celebrations. Grays’ other work experience includes serving at public relations firms in the Houston-area servicing accounts such as Sprint PCS, Ringling Brothers, Barnum & Bailey Circus, McCormick and Schmick’s Seafood Restaurant, NASA contracted companies and sports franchises. She holds a Bachelors of Arts in Journalism from the University of Houston and is active with the Houston Chapter of the American Cancer Society serving on their communications committee.
